HUNTINGTON- Our beloved Wilda Ann Jensen Jones returned to Heavenly Father and her loved ones April 19, 2013 in Ferron, Utah with her devoted family at her side. She was born in Cleveland, Utah on April 20, 1925 to Ernest W. and Nellie Davis Jensen and was only a few hours short of her 88th birthday. She married her sweetheart Blake L. Jones on June 8, 1942 in the Manti Temple.
She was a homemaker and found great joy in providing for her family. Being an excellent cook, she used those skills for many years as she ran a busy catering business. She was extremely talented with crafts and loved to crochet, make dolls, ceramics, and painting. She didn’t just make one of something, but made sure there was enough to go around all the family. Wilda was good help to Blake on the farm and liked to go camping and hunting where she always got her deer. She resided in Huntington and raised her family here. They had a lot of fun traveling and went somewhere every year. They enjoyed many winters in Quartsite and St. George and their many trips with the “Good Sams Club”. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and never tired of providing for her “toodle-e-do’s” (grandchildren). Diet Mountain Dew was her drink of choice but she was always willing to share. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving, especially in the library. She will be dearly missed by all her family and loved ones that she has spent her whole life serving.
She is survived by her husband Blake L. Jones of Huntington, children Blake LaNae (Margo) Jones, Randall Ernest (Barbra) Jones, Derk (Julie) Jones all of Huntington, Kelly Ann (Wayne) Olsen of Orangeville; sisters Beverly Jensen of Castle Dale, Thelma Jensen of Ferron, Wyanna (Ron) World and Henry Jensen of Cleveland. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sandra Jensen, infant brother Ernest Jensen, brother-in-laws John and Bert and grandchildren Clynn K. and Elam Derk Jones.
Friends may call for a visitation at the Huntington First Ward Chapel, 115 S 400 E on Monday, April 22, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Huntington First Ward Chapel at 11 am with a viewing an hour prior to the services.
