PRICE – Dale Edward Christensen, 90, passed away on May 8, 2013. He was born June 1, 1922 in Price, Utah to Thomas Arthur Christensen and Kathrine Amelia Grames. He married Margaret F. Anderson in the Manti Temple on April 23, 1943.
The youngest of four children, he graduated from Carbon County High School in 1941 and later graduated from the College of Eastern Utah in 1969. He served in the Army and fought in World War II. Dale was LDS and held many callings. He lived in or near Price all his life. He started life as a farmer and beekeeper and worked in the coal mines for several years. He retired from the US Postal Service and from the College of Eastern Utah Security Department. He was a member of the Sinbad Desert Amateur Radio Club. He played the harmonica, banjo and guitar.
He is survived by Jeffery (Helen) Christensen of Tacoma, Wash., Judith Bertels of Ogden, Utah and Lori (Stan) Beard of Helper, Utah. He has nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and all three of his siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Price LDS Fourth Ward Chapel (545 East 400 North). A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 6-7 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price (680 East 100 South) and on Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery with full military honors.
