PRICE-Elvain N. Gibson, age 75, passed away on June 9, 2013 in Price, Utah. Gib was born on March 3, 1938 to Elvain Davis and Ethel Nielson Gibson in Winter Quarters, Utah. He married Gaylene Noyes on Sept. 5, 1971 in Elko, Nevada.
Gib was born and raised in Price and graduated from Carbon High School; he was a member of the Elks Club, and the Utah State Riding Club Association. Gib worked as an auto parts salesman and a mechanic. He loved rebuilding tractors and cars, and he enjoyed attending car shows and showing his 32 Chevy Coupe. Gib’s hobbies included horses and encouraging his children and grandchildren to ride.
Gib will be remembered as an honest, hardworking, loving husband, father, grandfather, and grumpy old man with a tender heart.
Gib is survived by his wife, Gaylene, children: Dennis (Kayrene) Gibson of Wellington, Utah, Corey (Kimberly Labrum) Gibson of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Natalee (Justin Mecham) of Price, Utah, sister Peggy (Ken) Harrison of Roosevelt, Utah, brothers-in-law, Kim (Paula) Noyes of Wellington, Joe Johansen of Woodscross, Utah, sister-in-law, Nancy (Boyd) Greenhalgh of Price, mother-in-law, Ruth Noyes of Price, Utah, grandchildren: Samantha, Scott, Garrett and Kayden Gibson, Riley, Felisha, Baliegh and Ashlynn Gibson, Brooke, Dalton and Lacey Anderson and 2 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ann Johansen, father-in-law, Ben Noyes, brother-in-law, Benny Noyes.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Price LDS 6th Ward Chapel (303 West 500 South.) A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Price LDS 6th Ward church and also on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Wellington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Gib at www.fausettmortuary.com.
