Exciting times at the Southeastern Junior Livestock Show held on July 10-13 in Ferron. Friday was the day for judging the goats, sheep, pigs and steers in preparation for the Stock Show Sale on Saturday.
Everywhere in the stock yards and barns children could be seen grooming their animal for judging. Parents could be seen assisting and instructing in the cleaning, clipping, shearing, washing and blow drying the animals. Some grandparents brought their grandchildren to pet the animals and to see the animals up close like in a petting zoo.
In the arena judges could be seen casting a critical eye upon each animal as it passed in review. Family, friends and spectators filled the bleachers and crowded the arena rails.
There were exhibitors entering animals from all over the state of Utah. These are exhibitors that belong to 4H or FFA as sponsors. This is a good thing for children to learn and have the responsibility of an animal.
