PRICE- Jerroleane Jackson Olsen, age 77 passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Aug. 1, 2013 in Price, Utah. She was born on June 5, 1936 in Martin, Utah to Ira Birton and Alice Violet Smith Jackson. Jerri married Edward Worthern Olsen on June 23, 1956 in Price, Utah and their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on July 29, 1962.
Jerri attended schools at Helper Central, Helper Jr. High, and Carbon High graduating in 1954, she also graduated from Beauty College in Salt Lake City. She has spent almost her entire life in Carbon County. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She has served in many callings including primary chorister, teacher, and visiting teacher, she also loved to sing in the church choir. Her hobbies include sewing, tole painting, knitting and playing the piano. Jerri was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Family was her life and she lived her life for them.
She is survived by her children: Cindy (Jessie) Bertroch of Grand Junction, Colo; Shirley Stubbs of Price, Utah, Eddie (Marilyn) Olsen of Elmo, Utah, Dale (Jennifer) Olsen of Riverton, Utah, Nancy (Rod) Mills of Wellington, Utah; siblings: Ira (Marge) Jackson of Oak City, Utah, Penny (Kent) Boyack of Price, Utah; brothers-in-law: Chad (Vernon) Olsen of Park City, Utah, Clinton (Sherry) Olsen of California, sister-in-law, Juanita Schuster of California, 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant brother, Douglas Jackson, sisters-in-law, Linda Randall Jackson, Alta Wooden, brother-in-law John Schuster, infant brother-in-law, Preston Olsen, parents-in-law Vern and Rebecca Olsen.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Price LDS 11th Ward Chapel (300 West 500 South). A viewing will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South, Price, Utah) and also on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Jerri at www.fausettmortuary.com.
