PRICE-The love of a husband, a father and grandfather runs deep, but will sustain the family of Rodger Woodrow Atwood Sr., in his passing on October
8, 2013 in Minnesota. Rodger was born on May 23, 1940 in Price, Utah to Woodrow and Thelma Jensen Atwood. Utah.
He married Nancy Rae McLendon on Dec. 24, 1958 and they had five children, Betty Lynne Atwood, Pamela Rae (Solomon), Rodger Woodrow Jr. Atwood, Craig James Atwood, Cheryl Ann (Leithead), Christopher Lyle Blanc and Kacee Rae Blanc. The family was sealed in the Manti LDS Temple on March 16, 1972. The family lived in Escalante, Utah where Rodger proudly served as a Deputy Sheriff until they moved back to the Price area where he worked for Plateau Mining. Rodger enjoyed camping, motorcycles, and working with his hands. He spent every moment he possibly could with his family. They meant everything in the world to him. Rodger and Nancy are the loving grandparents to 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service, Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6-7 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Cleveland Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Rodger at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
