LaRae Majors, owner of LaRae’s Dance Studio Gym, started teaching dance and tumbling in 1953. The business moved to its present location at 240 South 300 West, Huntington, in September, 1976. Classes currently offered here include tap, ballet, jazz, gymnastics, tumbling, acro-dance and cheer for both boys and girls. Students learn to develop talents, skills, physical exercise, health, friendship, teamwork, respect for others, responsibility, confidence and self-disipline.
Our students have participated in many performances and competitions, and received many awards. The studio Gym Spinners will be hosting the SUTA pre-state tumbling and tramp competition on Dec. 7, at the Huntington Elementary. Many students have attended classes at LaRae’s Dance Studio Gym. One family has had five generations take classes from LaRae. Leah Huff, Karen Truman, Loretta Nielson, Peter Nielson and this year Madisyn and AJ Nielson. It is exciting to have been a part of so many lives.
The staff includes: LaRae Majors, Angela Fox (dance) Kelcie McElprang,(dance), Mindy Nelson and Dariyan Nelson, (acro-dance); and coaches: Melanie Caldwell, Kodi Caldwell, Amanda O’Neil, Rachelle Shannon, Miriam Sorensen, Ally Sorensen and Cassidy Heaps. Office: Kristen Allred and Jenifer Ungerman. Information regarding classes or other questions, please call 435-687-9845.
