Emery County had to wait 13 days into the new year before welcoming the New Year’s baby. Mason Wilkerson was born on Jan. 13 at 5:10 p.m. to Ashley and Wesley Wilkerson of Huntington.
He weighed five pounds eight ounces and was 19 inches long. Mason is welcomed by his siblings; Charley, Westin, Alley, Hailey and Odin. It works out perfectly for the Wilkerson family, three boys and three girls. Mason is the grandson of Benji and Rhea Gayler of Orangeville and Becky and Ellis Muir of Duchesne.
Part of the fun for being the New Year’s baby includes a prize package put together by the Emery County Progress and donated by local merchants.
The New Year’s baby and family will receive diapers from Stewart’s Market, ice cream from Coldstone Creamery, gift certificate from Bill’s Home Furnishings, two free gallons of paint from Magnuson Lumber, one year subscription to the Emery County Progress, gift certificate from Earl’s Appliance, savings certificate from Desert View Federal Credit Union, six movies with popcorn and drinks from Price Theatre, gift certificate from Gordon’s Nursery and Floral, a savings certificate to Eastern Utah Community Credit Union and a free 2×4 first birthday ad in the Emery County Progress.
