At the first meeting of the year for Emery Town, the swearing in ceremony was held. Suzy Cole swore in for another term Mistie Christiansen as mayor. Mayor
Christiansen then swore in Varian Allen and Wiley Pope to the town council.
Emery Town meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Emery Town Hall To be put on Council Meeting Agendas call Suzy Cole at 435-286 2417.
The city office is open Monday-Thursday from 8 am. – 5 p.m.
Emery is a community that was founded 1881 and was known for its unique “county banks” coal mines where citizens mined their own claims and trucked their own coal to market.
Emery was named in honor of George Emery of Tennessee who was appointed Governor of the Utah Territory in 1875.
Emery Town has a population of 308.
