Roger A. Clark

CASTLE DALE-Roger A. Clark, age 85, passed away Feb. 26, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City. He was born Jan. 8, 1929 in Emery, Utah to Adolphus Young and Nellie Elizabeth Anderson Clark.
Clark was a longtime resident of Emery County and graduate of Emery High where he was an all-star tennis player. In 1947, he enlisted in the Air Force and served as Sr. Air Operations Specialist during the Berlin Airlift while stationed in England. In 1951, he was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant. While stationed in England, Roger met his future wife and soul mate Pauline Zekayouski of 63 years. They were married in England in 1951. After Pauline arrived in the United States they remarried in New York on Dec. 28, 1951.
Roger worked for the US Postal Service where he was the Postmaster in three separate offices. He worked at the Post Office by day and at the coal mine by night. During his life he worked hard and taught his kids and grandkids how to hunt, fish, repair cars, and the importance of savings. Roger enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, or anything to do with the outdoors. From the time he was a small child he always wanted to be a pilot. He eventually received his pilot license and his own plane. Roger took great pride in his kids and grandkids in their accomplishments through life. He will be greatly missed.

Survived by his loving wife, Pauline Clark, Castle Dale; four sons and one daughter, Roger David Clark, Washington, Barry Lee (Brenda) Clark, Boise, ID, Scott Dwaine (Diane) Clark, Eagle, ID, Boe (Curtis) Taylor, Lawrence, Kevin Young (Tami) Clark, Kanab; brother, Glade (Norma) Clark, Leads; sister, Pat Anderson, Coalville.
Preceded in death by parents, infant sister, Evelyn Clark; brothers, John and David Clark; sister, Arlene Marinoni; and granddaughter, Misty Mead. Funeral service was held, Saturday, March 1, 2014, 2 p.m., at the Emery Community Center. Family received friends at the community center Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Interment, Emery City Cemetery.
