ELMO- Patsy Irene Ivie Brown, age 62, passed away peacefully Sunday March 9, 2014 at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. Patsy was born on Jan. 27, 1952 to Louie F. Ivie and Irene Wilson Ivie in Price, Utah.
Patsy graduated from Carbon High and the College of Eastern Utah with her degree in Cosmetology.
She married Dix (Butch) Jensen and together they had two children, Monte and Becky. They later divorced. Patsy married the love of her life and soul mate Gene Brown in 1990 and together they made their life in Elmo, Utah.
Patsy was an accomplished horsewoman competing in the high school, college, and amateur rodeos in the Western United States. She was also a member of the local horse show and barrel racing clubs. Her true passion was horses, whether competing, riding for pleasure, judging queen contests, or just watching her horses run through the pasture.
Patsy is survived by her husband Gene Brown, Elmo, son Monte (Jill) Jensen, Price; daughter Becky (Jon) Richens, Price; Debbie (Bruce) Snyder, Denver, Colo; Brenda (Jeff) Thomas, Ferron; Georgette Jones, Denver, Colo; Jim (Jennifer) Brown, Pleasant Grove; Mackenzie Brown and Michael Berglund, Okla; brother William S. “Bill” (LaRene) Ivie, Huntington; sister, LaRee (Neldon) Noyes, Price; brother-in-laws Phil (Dixie) Brown, Tonasket, Wash; Keith (Emily) Brown, Scenic, Ariz; 16 grandchildren, 1¾ great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents. Pat will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the U of U burn center for their compassion and love during Pat’s stay.
They are truly amazing! To the staff at Castleview Dialysis center, she loved you like you were family.
Funeral Service, Thursday, March 13, 2014, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Patsy online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
