PRICE/SALT LAKE-John Platis, our loving and loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather has gone fishing. Pappoo passed away peacefully March 26, 2014 at the age of 89, surrounded by his family and an immense feeling of love.
He was born Aug. 3, 1924 in Price, Utah, the third of 13 children to Gust and Matilda Hvala Platis.
Funeral service, Tuesday, April 1, 2014, 11 a.m., Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, (61 South 200 East, Price). Trisagion service was held, Monday evening 7 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street, Price) where friends are welcome to join the family Monday and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price, Utah where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of John online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 61 South 200 East, Price, Utah 84501.
