Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and teacher, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on May 1, 2014, in Helper, Utah, surrounded by love. Born March 25, 1931 in Richfield, Utah, the eldest of five sisters, to Joseph Clair Orrock and Lila Rose Christensen. She was raised in Joseph, Sevier County, and left the farm for BYU where she earned her BA in 1953, and her M.Ed.from USU in 1984. She taught school for 41 ½ years with a master’s degree in elementary education as well as an early childhood certificate. She loved her work and loved to go to school all her life. She did post-graduate work in social studies in her 70s through the U of U. She loved to travel and learn about people.
Beverly married Yoshio George Tadehara in Brighton, Colo. Dec. 29, 1954. They raised their family of four kids in Murray and Sandy, Utah, where she was a strong and faithful LDS woman. She worked in the Sunday School, Primary, and Relief Society. She was proud to be a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Alpha Delta Kappa sorority.
She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, loved roses, and genealogy. She often ‘quizzed’ her family on family. Singing with her grandchildren always brought a smile to her face.
Survived by her sons, Sami (Kathryn Maiben), Pocatello, Idaho; Lari (Julia), Helper, Utah; Tomi (Elaine), Lehi, Utah; and daughter, Diane (Duane Christensen), Ferron, Utah; more than two dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sister, Lucille Christensen; special friend and companion, Vernon Jensen, who brought tremendous joy and love to her last months.
