Green River is now the site of a Tesla recharging station. The station is located at the John Wesley Powell River History Museum. This station is part of a nationwide effort to build a network of fast charging superstations to make long distance travel easier for those who purchase the electric cars. Tesla Motors hopes to have stations in both the United States and in Europe. As of January, they had 65 operating in the US and 14 in Europe.
The stations are free access to all Tesla owners and open 24/7. A charge of 20 minutes will provide 150 miles of travel and a charge of 30 minutes will get you another 200 miles down the road before another charge will be required.
