HUNTINGTON – LaRene Collard Ivie, age 75 passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Price. She was born Sept. 8, 1938 in Huntington, to Lynn and Ella Howard Collard. She married the love of her life, William “Bill” Stirling Ivie, on Feb. 19, 1960 in Huntington, and was later sealed in the Manti Temple on Feb. 13, 1965.
LaRene grew up in Huntington where she attended school and then went on to attend Beauty School. She loved cooking and worked for Emery County School District as a lunch lady at Huntington Elementary and then moved to Canyon View Junior High where she was the manager until she retired. She also loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping with her family, sewing, making quilts, tinkering with wood projects, collecting old bottles and working in her yard. She had many great qualities and gifts that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She will never be forgotten.
LaRene had a love for her family and never let a chance go by that she didn’t brag on them. She always had cookies in the cookie jar and a smile on her face.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a great love for the Lord.
Our family would like to thank the many family members and friends that made it possible for LaRene to stay home where she felt safe and comfortable until the end. A special thanks to Judie Mangum, Rocky Mountain Hospice, CNA Debbie Petrie, RN Logan Anderson and LCSW Allison Morrelli.
