Cleveland Fire Department Car Wash
Cleveland Days Fireworks Fundraiser
Cleveland Fire Department will sponsor a car wash on Sat. June 28, 2014 at the Cleveland Fire Station, 130 W. Main St., Cleveland, starting at 8 am. Please come and show your support to the Fire Department members for all their hard work. All proceeds benefit the Cleveland Days Firework display. There will also be concessions and a bake sale. The Fire Department is asking for everyone’s support this year to help make this year’s Fireworks the best ever! Volunteers are needed for the Car Wash as well as donations for the bake sale. Please call the Town Office at 653-2310 if you are willing to help. This is a great opportunity for students needing service hours.

Wildlife-watching event
Taking a close look at bighorn sheep. The town of East Carbon-Sunnyside is home to a unique group of summer residents, a herd of about 25 bighorn sheep rams! In mid-June, the public and media are invited to come see the rams. This band of bighorns is used to cars and people, so you can observe and photograph the sheep at close range. Biologists will be available from 6 p.m. until dark to help you locate the animals and to answer your questions. Note: Because of drought conditions, the sheep may be moving around more than they usually do, but we will do all we can to help you spot them.

Location change for Castle Dale polling place.
The Castle Dale City polling place will be changed from the Castle Dale City Hall to the San Rafael Museum the address of the museum is 70 N 100 E. for the upcoming primary and general elections. The primary will be on June 24. All other polling locations will remain the same throughout the county.

Free summer meals for children 18 and under
Emery School District is sponsoring a summer lunch program for children. The sites and serving times will be,
Castle Dale Elementary Cafeteria, 195 E. 600 N. from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Ferron Elementary Cafeteria, 100 West Mill Rd. from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Huntington Elementary Cafeteria, 70 E. 1st. N. from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Book Cliff Elementary Cafeteria, 205 S. Solomon St. from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
All sites will operate beginning June 2 and feed children Monday through Friday until July 23, except July 4th. Meals to children are free. Adults who accompany children to the sites will have their meal fee waved. When all children have been served, other adults may purchase a remaining meal for $3.50 cash only. Adults are not allowed to eat off the child’s tray by Federal law. Meal service will be 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at all four sites; no meals can be served outside of our time frame, no meals can leave the site. Children should clean up after themselves and follow the adult supervisor’s directions. Funding for this program is provided by the US Dept. of Agriculture from Import taxes on foods from other countries. No other activities, such as day care or other child supervision, will be available at the feeding locations.

4th Annual Desert Rock Classic
June 28-29 at Millsite Golf Course. $100 includes green fees (all golfers must ride, cost $12 round.) All entry fees must be paid in cash or check payable to Jordan Leonard. First 50 paid entries receive one dozen Titleist PRO V1 balls.
