"The youth group helps with vacation bible school."

By Alice Wadley staff writer

Members of the Colorado Mountain View E-Free church youth group of Greely, Colorado visited Emery and Carbon County during the first week of June. The group included 50 youth and ten adult leaders. In addition to all of the service projects the group assisted with Vacation Bible School at Desert Edge Christian Chapel. Kids gathered to sing, dance, do crafts and hear Bible stories everyday.
The Mountain View youth group visited local care centers in the area and completed service projects at each location. The youth had the opportunity to visit with the residents, play music and have wheelchair races.
The Mountain View youth group takes a yearly mission trip to one location every summer and completes service projects.
The youth group painted houses and cleaned weeds from lots. They helped plant flowers and clean-up in Huntington. The 50 kids worked for eight hours each day.
They completed projects in Carbon County as well as Emery County.
They also cleaned along SR-31 the Huntington Canyon road.
Recipients of the service expressed their appreciation.
