Rural Utah Child Development is a comprehensive child development program designed to meet the education, emotional, social, and health needs of children and families in Carbon, Emery, Grand, Piute, San Juan, Wayne, Uintah and Sevier Counties. Our program focuses on teaching children social competence to increase their success in their present environment and later experiences and responsibilities in school. Busing is provided for children to and from school and nutritious home cooked meals and snacks are offered as part of our quality program.
RUCD is pleased to announce that Head Start is expanding services in Carbon County. Our Price Center will now be offering a six hour classroom for children ages 3-5. This new center-based option provides 17 additional spots, operating from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday to help meet the needs of working parents.
The program is recruiting staff and children to be ready for the first day of school on Sept. 16. Interested families can call 435-637-4960 or visit our website at www.rucd.org for an application. The program will continue to operate half-day programs for 3 and 4-year-olds in Price, Wellington, and Huntington, as well as a home-based option and Early Head Start for prenatal mothers and children 0-3 in Carbon County.
Each Head Start Center will be hosting an Open House Event for parents and community members on Monday, Sept. 15. Everyone is welcome to come and learn about Head Start.
