DWR will provide tackle and teach kids how to fish.
The Division of Wildlife Resources is busy stocking a pond at Green River State Park for a Kids’ Fishing Day, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 8 a.m. to noon. The event is free!
To ensure good fishing, the Division of Wildlife Resources will plant the pond with 500 8-inch rainbow trout just prior to the event. The pond is also home to bass, bluegill and a few catfish.
If you don’t have your own fishing equipment, the DWR will provide rods, reels and even bait. DWR personnel will be available for those who are beginners or just need help.
