Dennis Jones appeared in court on Sept. 16 for his initial appearance in the Seventh District Court in Castle Dale. Judge Thomas was presiding. Jones is scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing on October 21, at 10:30 a.m.
Jones, 63, was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to commit an assault, a class A misdemeanor, and assault, a class B misdemeanor.
Jones is the principal at Cottonwood Elementary and is presently on administrative leave from this position.
