The Emery County Senior Citizen’s Barbecue was held at the Huntington Park on Sept. 5. More than 80 Emery County senior citizens arrived to partake of the great food and listen to the Country Rover’s Band.
Shawna Horrocks the Director of the Area Agency on Aging welcomed the Emery County Senior Citizens in behalf of the Emery County Commissioners.
Shawna then invited all the County Senior Citizen Center Directors to stand and be recognized. She thanked the Emery County Commissioners for providing this wonderful Senior Citizen lunch annually.
Kent Wilson of BK’s in Huntington and his wife Julie were the caterers providing the barbecue pork loin, lamb fry, watermelon, cantaloupe, rolls, potatoes and salads. The desserts were furnished by the Senior Citizen Center Directors. The center directors and commissioners served up the food.
Shawna Horrocks reminded everyone that there would be a health screening clinic at the Price Senior Citizen Center, September 24. If you plan to stay for lunch on that day contact the Price Senior Citizen Center at 636-3202.
Everyone said they enjoyed the delicious food, the camaraderie and the Country Rover’s music.
This was an opportunity to meet and greet citizens from all over the county.
