The Green River Lady Pirate volleyball team finished preseason play last week with a 3-2 win over Wayne. Green River then went on to start region play and the team lost to both Monticello and Monument Valley in games played on the road.
Monticello defeated the Pirates in three games as they won 25-4, 25-8 and 25-6. Monticello will be a favorite for the state 1-A title this season. Green River then lost at Monument Valley.
Green River will travel to Whitehorse High School this Tuesday.
