Superintendent Kirk L. Sitterud and the Emery County School District Administration would like to announce that John Hughes has been named as interim principal at Cottonwood Elementary School for the remainder of the
2014-15 school year. He will continue to teach sixth grade a half-day during this time. The position will be opened next summer for applications and interviews.
Superintendent Sitterud said, “We would like to congratulate John on this assignment and look forward to working with him in helping the students at Cottonwood Elementary be successful in their educational endeavors. We encourage all to lend him support and wish him well in this new assignment.
“This is John’s first year at Cottonwood Elementary after many years of successful teaching at Book Cliff Elementary School in Green River.
“As we welcome John to his new assignment, we also thank Dennis Jones for his 35 year career as a teacher and principal, and wish him well in his retirement,” said Superintendent Sitterud.
