Coach Tom Hansen will take his two doubles teams to the 2-A state tennis tournament this Friday at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City after having placed at last week’s region meet. In the very competitive north region, Emery finished about where expected in qualifying for the final meet of the season.
First doubles team of Ashley Robinson and Britney Fortner along with second doubles team of Shaylynn Rowley and Laryssa Guymon each placed fourth in their divisions and will travel to the final tournament this season. Each team will now face the number one doubles team from the South region which are the teams from Manti.
Emery’s singles players failed to advance to the state meet after having improved throughout the season. First singles was Madelyn Carter, 2nd singles was Ally Sorenson and third singles was Ellie Kay.
Coach Hansen expects his doubles team to play well and be competitive in their opening match this Friday. Good luck Lady Spartan tennis.
