TREMONTON – Dora Jane Johnson Petersen, 78, was reunited with her eternal companion, on Oct. 10, 2014; 30 years after his passing.
She was born June 24, 1936 in Emery, Utah to Mervin R and Velma J Johnson.
She married George Arthur Petersen Nov. 19, 1951 in the Manti LDS Temple.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and recently became a great-great grandmother.
She was dedicated to her family and made each grandchild feel special.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in various callings, including Relief Society President, Temple Worker, and served a full-time LDS Mission in Washington D.C.
She worked hard in many ways, including gardening in her yards, renovating and decorating her homes, and cooking and crocheting for her family.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Peggy) Petersen of Bountiful, Utah; Barry Petersen of Tremonton, Utah; Patricia (Mark) Wilson Trupp of Driggs, Idaho; Blaine (Holly) Petersen of Ammon, Idaho; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband George; her son-in-law, Preston D. Wilson; and great grandson Keegan J. Watson; and two brothers Dilworth and Terry Johnson.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Tremonton 2nd and 5th ward LDS church (300 South Tremont St.). Burial will be in the Ferron City Cemetery in Ferron, Utah.
Friends may call from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Tremonton 2nd and 5th ward LDS church, and from 9 until 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint’s Missionary Fund or Perpetual Education Fund.
