GREEN RIVER – Erma L. Evans, age 93, passed away on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, after a long and fruitful life. She was born Dec. 30, 1920 in Sunnyside, Utah to Isaac Whimpey and Olive Turner Evans.
Erma grew up in the coal camps of eastern Utah and attended schools there. She was also part of the first classes of Carbon College.
Married Frank Dennis Belt, later divorced. Three children were born to this union. Two sons died in infancy. Married Ben Coomer 1947, later divorced. Two sons were born to this union. Ben and Erma had numerous businesses throughout Utah and Colorado.
She later split her time between Green River, Utah and Yuma, Ariz.
Married Richard Ihler, deceased; married Ed Templeton, deceased.
Erma was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was active member whom held numerous leadership positions, including Relief Society President.
Survivors are daughter Frankie Belt Coomer, Ben (Lana) Coomer, all of Green River, and Bruce (Patricia) Coomer of Clarkridge, Ark.
Grandchildren: David (Darcy Coles) Coomer of Omaha, Neb.; Michael (Barbara Gill) Coomer of San Jose, Calif.; Sarah (Mike) Good, and Ross Coomer of Green River.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons, William and Clyde; husbands; brother Clyde Turner Evans; sister Shanna Evans Dine; brother-in-law Charles P. Dine.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, 11 a.m., at the Wellington City Cemetery. Family received friends at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price Wednesday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. then proceed to the cemetery.
