Museum of the San Rafael activities art show/dino camp

The public was invited to the First Annual High School Art Show at the Museum of the San Rafael on Nov. 20. Featuring The Emery High School Art Class under the direction of artist Mike Royall. The Emery High School Art Class’s artwork is on display to support our local talent. The Art Show will be on display at the Museum of the San Rafael until January 2015.
Mike Royall artist and high school art instructor stated 80 percent of the high school students in the class this year had never tried painting art, before this term. Most of the paintings on display from the class were watercolors.
Chase Fausett from Huntington, the son of Brett and Marlene Fausett, is a Sterling Scholar in Mike Royall’s painting class. Chase paints in several mediums and styles and is proud of all of his work on display.
Royall was pleased that the museum chose to host this wonderful event for the students. “We hope to do this every year. We have many very talented students in Emery County,” said Royall.
Jacie Huntington from Huntington, the daughter of Jared and Staci Huntington, also had some of her outstanding works on display.
Shaylynn Rowley was well represented by some of her outstanding paintings.
Maegan Wilberg Director of the Museum of the San Rafael said, “We wanted to promote the kids and their talents and what better way to do that than to have an art show in the Museum where people can see their works.”
Tiffany Baker said, “This is a great way to get our youth involved in the museum. This will help people understand what a great area we have in Emery County.”
A number of parents and grandparents were seen viewing the art show and partaking of the refreshments.
