LAWRENCE-Heber Dennis Ward, age 79, passed away suddenly Dec. 23, 2014. He was born April 30, 1935 to Heber and Marjorie Johnson Ward in Huntington, Utah. Married Rose Wagner on March 14, 1958, they eloped to Eureka, Nevada and were the best of friends. They have three children Tory, Von and Clayton.
Dennis was a Marine, a mechanic, Mopar man, businessman, the best darn papa, and most of all a family man. Papa and Flower loved nothing more than to load their kids and grandkids up and take them on trips whether it be to the mountains or the desert, clear across the country in the GrisWard Van, or go on an old car cruise in the 1960 DeSoto.
Papa spent a lot of his time at his shop in Huntington with his son’s Von and Clayton, son-in-law Kurt, grandson Jakob, brothers Deon and Joe, and all of his nephews, working on and restoring old cars which was a great joy in his life. He has quite the collection of vintage cars and old junk! He enjoyed his visits at the shop with the morning Coffee Crew.
Papa and Flower live on a 100 acres where they have a small farm and a large car junk yard! They had a happy life there! Dennis and Rose traveled with the Rendezvous Rocket Oldsmobile Club of Utah where they made many lifelong friends. He was a fighter and a hard worker who leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful and entertaining memories for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Heber and Marjorie, brothers Deon and Devon, sisters, Diane and JoAnn, father and mother in-law Cato and Nina Wagner, and sisters in-law, Berta Ward and Luticia Swapp.
Dennis is survived by his wife and wonderful caretaker Rose, brother Joe, children Tory and Kurt, Von, Clayton and Andrea, grandchildren, Whitney and Zac, Jakob, Chelsea, BrittLee, and Noah, great-granddaughters Paisley and Addison, sister in-law Karen Ward, brothers-in-law Dan and Marilyn Wagner, Cato and Janice Wagner, sisters in-law Nina Wolfe, Jacquie and Kim Jacobs, and Rebecca Wagner, his cousin and good friend Jethro Majors, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and loads of friends.
