On Wednesday April 22, the Huntington City rodeo grounds will be the site of a big top circus. Huntington City is the sponsor for two performances starting at 4:30 and 7 pm. The circus will feature clowns, animal acts and aerial performances. Tickets will be sold at the city offices. In other items talked about at the Huntington City Council meeting in March, the Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on March 28 at the Lion’s park.
At the request of the animal control officer, it was discussed changing the city ordinances so that feeding wildlife would become a violation within city limits. This change was proposed so that residents would not be in competition with the Utah Fish and Game. They are trapping and removing wildlife as necessary to protect both the animal and the residents.
TJ Hill was given permission to go throughout the city and propose to residents that for a fee he would paint their house number on the curb in front of their house. He was also given permission to paint college logos with the number. Other suitable logos were also approved.
Mayor Hilary Gordon mentioned the city has applied for UDOT funds to continue installing curb, gutter and sidewalk outside on Highway 10 north of Huntington Creek. The City would like to go all the way to 400 East with the project.
Councilman Jerry Livingston mentioned that No Parking will be painted on the doors of the fire station so it doesn’t become an issue with emergency vehicles leaving the building.
The City is also considering putting a heat source inside the restroom at the Memorial Park by the cemetery before next winter because of the cost of port-a-potty rentals.
