The Emery County Business Chamber hosted a ribbon cutting for a new business in Ferron. Precision Application is a new business operated by Brooks Behling. Behling is a Ferron native who has been farming in Emery County the past four years since returning to the area after completing his education at Utah State University.
He saw a need for fertilizer as well as herbicide/pesticide application for area farmers. Behling said, “Many farmers just don’t have the equipment to do this for themselves. We can spread either liquid or granular fertilizer. We can customize the blends and we do soil sampling. By sampling your soil you can apply just what your soil needs. I recommend you have this done. We work with the farmers to get them just what they need for their particular soils. Our services are for the farmers. We’ve been open about a month now. We also sell fertilizer that you can pick-up from us for your own application. Our business is Precision Application, because with our equipment we can spread the fertilizer out just right. The spreader truck has a GPS and is computerized for precise application. This feature sets us apart. This prevents over or under application of the fertilizer. The truck also has a rate controller on the spreader, so if you slow down, the rate of application slows down.
Behling along with his wife Katie have one son Jack and are expecting another baby in the summer.
Behling is thankful to be in Emery County and work with the farmers in the area to help them create the best farm and crops they can.
To schedule a time when Precision Application can visit your farm and customize your fertilizer needs call 435-749-9236; you can email behlingbrooks@gmail.com to also consult with Brooks Behling.
Chamber board president Jared Anderson presented Brooks Behling with a plaque from the business chamber welcoming his new business to the county.
Behling encourages everyone to try his services: bulk fertilizer, custom blending, soil sampling, liquid fertilizer and custom spraying.
