In the annual Emery rodeo Marrissa Austin qualified in barrels on Saturday and Riata Christiansen placed eighth in breakaway roping and 10th in pole bending, Nathan Urie rode his saddle bronc and placed fourth, Louie Ivie and his partner Stefan Ramone from SUC (South Utah County) won first in Team Roping.
Rodeo advisor Dawnette Gordon said, “I have 16 members that have qualified for State Finals; seven of those members have qualified in more than one event. One member has qualified in the trap shoot event.” Makayla Jensen, Lacy McElprang, Marrissa Austin, Riata Christiansen, Hanna Nielsen, Ty Gordon, Taylor Wilstead, Louie Ivie, Hayden Cloward, Hadley Cloward, McKoy Christiansen, Teigen Jewkes, Nathan Urie, Austin Allred, Jed Kofford, and Bret Nielsen is qualified in trap shooting.
At the Carbon rodeo Teigen Jewkes placed 10th in tiedown roping and McKoy Christiansen placed 9th cow cutting.
