Born a coal miners’ daughter in Spring Glen Utah, on Sept. 9, 1934, Elinor Tolich-Evatz passed away at home on Jan. 4, 2015. The eldest of four children, Elinor was raised in the small coal mining camp of Latuda, located west of Helper, Utah in Spring Canyon.
A memorial mass service at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church (Reno, Nev.) was held on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 at 11 a.m.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations, in Elinor’s name, be made to the Orvis School of Nursing, University of Nevada, Reno Foundation, MS 007, Reno, NV 89557). A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, in Helper, Utah on May 22, 2015 at 1 p.m. Family and friends welcome.
