Chris Mortensen graduates from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Chris is the grandson of Clifford and Janice Snow of Ferron and the son of Stacy and Patrick Skinner.
The Cadets had planned a fun filled two day celebration. The cadets started with a parade in the morning where the seniors were honored by the classes. Gliders and parachute jumpers entertained the audience before the parade began. The next big event was the pinning of the 2nd Lieutenant Bars. Mortensen was pinned by his parents and then was honored by his grandfather Clifford Snow to give his first Salute. Thursday was the graduation ceremony where over 800 cadets graduated. The Key note speaker was Deborah Lee James, Secretary of the Air Force. The graduation ceremony was truly an event that you would never forget. The cadets marched in on step and in perfect form. As the cadets sang the Air Force Song, gave their last call of the class of 2015, and threw their caps into the air as the USAF Thunderbirds flew overhead. Lieutenant Chris Mortensen will be stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Northern California.
