The 2014-15 high school sports season came to a close with state championships decided in softball, baseball, track, soccer and golf.
Emery High School was well represented when after season accolades were handed out.
Ridge Nielson and Dillon Wilstead were both named to the Deseret News first team 2-A teams and softball player Ashton Bell was named to the all state first team. Bell finished the season with 19 homeruns and 13 doubles
and was considered one of the better power hitters in the state of Utah.
Nielson had a .443 batting average as he played shortstop for the Spartans and Ridge also went 4-2 on the mound.
Wilstead played third base for Emery and also had a 5-1 record as a pitcher.
Tyson Roper was named to the 2-A second baseball team and Kambrie Hinkins was named to the 2-A softball second team.
Emery High School had numerous athletes named to 2-A All-Academic teams
after the seasons had ended. In baseball it was Mark DeBry and Roper, in girls golf it was Hailey Johnson, in boys soccer it was Trevor Graham and Tyeray Migliori, in boys track it was Matt Mecham and in girls track it was Valerie Chynoweth, Laryssa Guymon and Triston Wayman.
