Coach Caleen Wilcox said, “At the Huntsman Senior World Games Championship Softball, the Emery County Coal Miners Daughters ended with a Silver Medal after losing games and dropping to the bottom of the bracket, and having to work our way back to the top.
“In the medals round we played Canada then turned around and played Tennessee.
“They didn’t have a loss. We beat them the first game and had to play them again, coming up short and ending with the silver.
“We played five and half hours straight Wednesday morning. We had the best fan base and want to thank them for the support.
“We are proud to be the daughters of Coal Miners of Emery County. We all learned a good trait from our coal mining dads and our mothers to work hard and never give up.
“We want to thank Stephanie and Tara and all the other young people for helping us get to this point.
“These games are an annual event held in St. George, Utah and have over 20,000 participants from over 70 countries.
“We really had a fun time,” said Wilcox.
