ORANGEVILLE – Harry Earl Snow II, age 65, passed away at his home in Orangeville on Nov. 30, 2015. He was born July 6, to Harry Earl Sr. and Mary Humphries Snow. Earl was raised in Moab where he graduated high school and then attended Utah State University for the following two years. He entered the US Army in May of 1971 and was honorably discharged in May of 1977. During his services he spent several years in Germany.
After his military service he began working in the mining industry and had a long career working in several mines. He entered Mine Management and worked for Energy West-Pacificorp. During his work there he was active in the Wilberg Mine disaster and led a rescue and recovery team effort. He worked his way up to become a Mine Manager until his retirement in 2012 after 38 years. Earl was highly respected by all the people who worked with him.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Earl was very talented in wood working and building many different kinds of furnishings and décor. He took pride is his work and was very dedicated to everything he did. He was married to Frances “Fran” Juanita Haven on July 8, 1988 and remained devoted to her through the years they spent together. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Earl is survived by his wife Fran, his children Marci (Ken) Larson, Cindy (Lewis) Chang, Mary Beth (Cory) Cook, Sharlette McKibben, Christi (Tony) Russo, Gary (Tiffany) McKibben, Robert McKibben, Mary McKibben, 20 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother John H and Robin Snow. Earl was preceded in death by his parents Harry Sr. and Mary Snow, daughter Dannielle Snow, infant sons Christopher Earl Snow and Jonathan Earl Snow, and a sister Ann Shrotz.
Friends called for a visitation at Fausett Mortuary, 720 N Center, Castle Dale on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. A funeral service was held Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Orangeville 2nd Ward Chapel, 100 S Main in Orangeville with a viewing at the church an hour prior to the funeral service. Interment and military honors followed in the Orangeville City Cemetery.
