Editor:
I was glad to see the Letter to the Editor from Richard Turner of Heber in the Feb. 9, issue of the Emery County Progress. What he says is true. There should be a huge number of letters like this. There can be ways of working with the Federal Government on the use of public lands as we have been doing for years.
But the push for state management of these lands would be weaker. It would be more likely to be used to give them over to those who would destroy most of their true value for economic gain which often would also make things more unhealthy in different ways.
