GREEN RIVER-Our loving, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Verdella Marsing Davis, age 89, passed away April 7, 2016 in Price.
She was born February 23, 1927 in Helper, Utah to Harva and Rebecca Lewis Marsing. Married Homer Edward Davis, June 8, 1943 in Wells, Nevada; he died February 1, 1998.
Verdella was a longtime resident of Carbon and Emery Counties where she enjoyed years of ranching with her husband and following her children to rodeos. She shared a deep love for farm animals, birds and the flowers in her yard.
Survivors include her daughter and son, Judy Ann (Bob) Scott, Green River, Johnny Davis, Vernal; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Davis, Green River; one brother and two sisters, Laura Faye Leech, Layton, Donna Duncan, Tooele, Eddie (Norma) Marsing, Centerville; eightgranddaughters, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Homer Davis; son, Jay W. Davis; one sister and seven brothers.
Verdella’s service was held Monday, April 11, 2016, 1 p.m., at the Green River Senior Center. Friends were welcome to join the family one half hour prior to service. Burial, Elgin Cemetery under the trusted care of Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Verdella online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
