Janice D. Johnson of Price, Utah passed away peacefully on Aug. 13 in Price, Utah at the age of 78. Mom was born on Aug. 29, 1937 in Price, Utah to Andy and Chloe Jensen Moore. Mom married our Dad, John Merrill Johnson, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Later sealed in LDS Temple in Manti, Utah. As a family they moved to Hanksville, Utah.
Mom was raised in Green River, Utah and was one of the most talented women we know. She was proficient in piano, accordion, singing and dance. No one could jitterbug like Mom. She was also very talented in gardening, cooking and needlework.
Mom was very active in the LDS faith and had numerous positions. She loved to camp, hunt, fish and even won the Big Buck Contest in Hanksville.
She is survived by her children: Dale William Johnson, Mike T. Johnson, John M. Johnson Jr., Kyle P. Johnson and Vicki (Tom) Glaze; 23 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: parents, brothers, grandchildren Cody Johnson, Ben Johnson, Corey Johnson and Micaela Johnson.
A memorial service and viewing will be held Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016 at Fausett Mortuary, Price, Utah from 6 – 8 p.m. Interment and grave dedication will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016 in Elgin Cemetery, Green River, Utah at 11 a.m. entrusted to Fausett Mortuary.
