PRICE – Doris Colleen Asay Mills, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 18, 2016.
She was born July 16, 1932 in Price, Utah to Charles Arvel and Fanny Alene Monsen Asay.
Married Richard “Bud” Mills Dec. 31, 1949 in Price, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on June 26, 1965.
Doris was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in several Relief Society presidencies as well as the Young Women’s presidency. She was blessed to share her birthday with her sweetheart of 67 years. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Doris loved spending time with them whether it was a birthday, camping, or having an afternoon visit sharing stories of her hometown Hiawatha. She enjoyed providing service to everyone. Doris always said, “Love is God’s greatest attribute”. She delighted in the beauties of nature, especially her flower garden, hummingbirds, and the mountains.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Doris’s angels everyone at CNS and Dr. Potter.
Survived by her husband, Bud Mills; children, Terrie Mills, Connie Simms, Billie Jean Powell, Bret (Anita) Mills; brother, Boyd Asay, sisters, Shirley Rasmussen and Roseanne (Nemo) Tullius; 17 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jeffery Powell; brother, Gary Asay; sons-in-law, Kent Simms and Shawn Powell.
Funeral service, Tuesday, August 23, 2016, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Doris online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
