It was a busy summer for the Green River CHEER Coalition/Pirate’s Den Teen Center.
The Pirates Den After School Program continued into the summer with amazing activities. Our “Movies In The Park” included; Star Wars – The Force Awakens, The Good Dinosaur, and coming up on August 26th we will be showing Zootopia, followed by Guardians of the Galaxy on Wednesday September 14th. All movies start at dusk and are free to everyone. “Movies In The Park” is a great family event that more than 125 viewers enjoy.
Thanks to the Sorenson Legacy Foundation we were able to take field trips to the Clark Planetarium, Natural History Museum, and to the Western Mining and Railroad Museum in Helper where we then stopped by the wave pool to cool off.
Pirate’s Den Staff with the help of the Southeastern Utah Health Department provided an ATV safety class for youth 8-16 years old, 12 youth attend and passed the class.
These activities provided new and fun opportunities for the youth of Green River. 46 youth participants attended Pirate’s Den summer activities, all activities were free of charge for youth wishing to participate. We want to thank all those that made it possible for our youth to experience new and exciting activities this summer; Thank You, Sorenson Legacy Foundation, Southeastern Utah Health Department and the Staff and Board Members of the Green River CHEER Coalition/Pirate’s Den Teen Center for all of your generosity and hard work.
