The region 17 fall baseball season is quickly coming to a close and Green River finds itself in a fight along with fellow region 17 members, Tabiona, Manila and Pinnacle to actually make the 1-A Utah State tournament that starts two short weeks from today.
The Pirates had no scheduled games last week due to Melon Days and in their last action on the diamond, the Pirates lost two games to Tabiona, one by the score of 9-7 and the other by a score of 14-1.
Green River has a doubleheader scheduled this Friday against Manila at home and then on Saturday the Pirates will host Pinnacle in another doubleheader.
The 1-A state tournament begins on October 4th with quarterfinal games at Spanish Fork and will then conclude October 7th and 8th at Dixie State University in St George.
