HELPER-Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and longtime friend, Ora Orton Bogdin, age 90, passed away Sept. 15, 2016 in Price.
She was born Sept. 18, 1925 in Winter Quarters, Utah to George Rulen Orton and Mary Catherine Gibson.
On Aug. 4, 1944 she married Deloy L. Bogdin in Lawrence, Utah; their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on July 18, 1964. Deloy preceded her in death on June 28, 2006.
Ora was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings. She was a longtime resident of Carbon County and a proud 30 year resident of Castle Gate. Ora was very outgoing and an avid bowler for over 45 years. She loved camping, fishing, and most of all being grandma.
Ora’s family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Heirloom Inn, Pinnacle Nursing and Symbii Home Health and Hospice for their loving care. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survived by her sons, DeLoy G. (LaNae) Bogdin, Castle Dale, Leland (Brenda) Bogdin, John Bogdin, both of Price, Butch (Judy) Bogdin, Craig, Colo., Jackie (Sue) Bogdin, Helper; sister, Vera (Charles) Barney, Salt Lake City; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great great grandsons.
Preceded in death by parents, husband, Deloy; daughters-in-law, Arlene and Rhonda Bogdin; granddaughter, Jackie Bogdin; grandsons, Eric Bogdin and Justin Bentley; great-granddaughter, Kira McKenzie Smith; four sisters, Donna Orton, Peggy Bench, Lou Babcock and Eva Orton.
Funeral service, Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, 11 a.m., Helper LDS Stake Center. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.
