"Paul Travis Moore"

By By

Paul was born in Waco, Texas to Juanita and Vern Moore. His brother, Danny, was his best friend as they scurried around the hills of Vernal, occasionally creating havoc. Paul and his first wife, Ruby, had one son, Travis Gene. Paul married Betty Dean on April 5, 2002 and they have two cats, Dora and B.C.
At the ripe old age of 17, Paul joined the United States Air Force where he served for four years as an aircraft refueler in North Dakota, Turkey and Las Vegas. He spent two years in the Air Force Reserve.
Paul (nickname P. Moore) spent 23 years working underground for the Wilberg, Cottonwood and Trail Mountain coal mines. He is still a proud member of the UMWA (United Mine Workers of America). He loved his job, but his wishes were to be cremated and his ashes scattered over Horn Mountain because he didn’t want to spend “one more minute underground.”
Paul loved hiking, camping and hunting with his best buddy, Ralph Bluemel, and his son, Chris.
He immensely enjoyed a cruise to Alaska a couple of years ago.
Survivors include wife, Betty, of Castle Dale; parents Juanita and Vern Moore of Vernal; brother Danny (Peggy) of Vernal, son Travis (McKell) of Casa Grande, Arizona; two grandchildren, Lillian and Sariah; and stepson Wes Wright of Vernal, plus nieces, nephews and their kids.
Paul grew fond of animals (especially cats), so in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741-5000.
Family will greet friends Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 at Fausett Mortuary, 720 North Main, Castle Dale, Utah between 10-11 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Fausett Mortuary of Emery County. Friends and family may visit the online guestbook and share a memory of Paul at www.fausettmortuary.com.
