HUNTINGTON-George Gail Tucker, age 82 passed away at home on Dec. 12, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was born February 21, 1934 in Cleveland, Utah to Benjamin Merrill and Luella Black Tucker. George married Esther Jane Rowley of Huntington on Dec. 22, 1957.
He moved to Huntington, Utah in 1962 after serving 11 years in the United States Air Force. George worked for Huntington City, the US Job Corps, Deer Creek Mine and for several power line construction companies until retiring in 1994. Whether hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, camping or tinkering in the back yard, he loved being outdoors and spending time with his family.
George is survived by his wife of 59 years, Esther Jane; sons, Scott (Patrica) Tucker, Jeff (Vickie) Tucker and Brett (Stephanie) Tucker; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Doris Miller; brothers, Lyle (Carla) Tucker and Geary Tucker.
Preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Brenda Jean Tucker; brothers and sisters, Florance (George) Poulos, Merrill June (Loraine) Tucker, Nedra (Bud) Winder and Kay Tucker; brother-in-law, Dee Miller and sister-in-law, Fran Tucker.
Funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at the Huntington LDS Stake Center at 11:30 a.m. Family received friends at the church Friday morning beginning at 10 a.m. Interment, Cleveland City Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of George online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
