I have to wonder what the big deal is about the Mormon Tabernacle choir being asked to perform at the inauguration ceremonies for Pres. Elect Donald Trump.
I think exposure at the National level for any performing group would be a great thing. Especially a religious choir which sings of peace, love, family and a higher power.
I think it’s an honor to be asked to perform. Utah is often ignored unless we have something someone else wants to be in control of like our public lands.
Any group or individual should be proud to be a part of something as historic as an inauguration of a new president. Well, maybe you don’t like the guy. Well so what. Don’t you have any respect for the office of the President of the United States.
I kinda had a problem with all those people who lost it after the election. Donald Trump is not my president they said. Well, I was and am prepared to support the President of the United States whether it was candidate Clinton or candidate Trump. We should respect the office and speak respectfully of the person who holds that office.
I never did like it when the medical program that Pres. Obama instituted was called Obamacare. It always sounded a bit disrespectful to me. I have always tried when referring to Pres. Obama in any context to call him Pres. Obama. You may not have liked everything he has done. You may or may not like that he created a new national monument in Utah, but you need to respect the office of President.
Everyone who expressed their discomfiture with the recent election, then it’s a free country, I like that you can have your opinion and express it. That makes America great.
I also think if you don’t want an America, led by Donald Trump then it’s a huge world out there, see how easy it is to take up residence in another country. In America, we have welcomed the immigrant. We are all immigrants that came here at various stages in our family tree. Some more recent than others. I don’t think the president elect is against immigration, he is against those who intend to cause harm here and commit crimes. Anyone of us should be against that.
