ELMO-Randy Joe Oveson, age 62, passed away Jan. 25, 2017 at his home.
He was born April 5, 1954 in Price, Utah to James Lincoln and Smiles Angus Oveson. Married Debbie Collar, June 29, 1974 in Price, Utah; their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on July 29, 1977.
Joe loved spending time with his family in any situation or activity. Joe loved his grandchildren, they were a highlight to his life. He was proud of all of them and loved to go watch them play any sport or do any activity (and have a hotdog while doing it if possible). He loved his children dearly and was always there for them. He would answer their calls while he was farming on the tractor and would shut everything down just to talk. Joe was a gentleman and adored his wife Debbie of 43 years, they never went anywhere when he didn’t open the car door for her. Joe loved animals (especially his sidekick Gypsy). He loved to read, learn, fish, farm, ride horses, play games, tell jokes, laugh, TEASE, give dry shaves, get the best of people, bullshit with anyone and loved to just sit back and enjoy the view.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Oveson, Elmo; three sons and one daughter, Robbie (Nicole) Oveson, Clemo, Katie (Dave) Hreinson, Huntington, Adam (Sarah) Oveson, Price, Randy Oveson- “Barkley and Cupcake”, Salt Lake City; three sisters, Ivina Oveson, Salt Lake City, Penny Arno (Laurie Bowman), Price, Shelly (Steve) Acosta, Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren, Wyatt, Ridge, Cheyenne, Race, Garett, Newt, Keirsten, Shayleigh, J.W., Gracie and Liam; and Joe’s faithful companion, Gypsy.
