PRICE-Phyllis Ann Keele Wheeler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away, Jan. 29, 2017 due to cancer. She was born May 16, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to loving parents, Van and Dolma Keele. Mom married her sweetheart Claude Andrew Wheeler, May 30, 1948 in Price, Utah. They had seven children, three boys and four girls. Her family was the light of her life. Their union was solemnized in the Manti Temple.
Phyllis was a member of the LDS Church where she served faithfully in the Primary, Relief Society, and as a visiting teacher. Mom and Dad also fulfilled a mission at the Manti Temple.
She loved to sew, cook, scrapbook and make cards. It brought joy to her to share those talents with others. She was famous in the neighborhood for her home-made bread.
Phyllis was a registered nurse who worked at Carbon Hospital in labor and delivery. She also worked at the Health Department. In both areas she helped many women with her compassionate and caring nature.
Phyllis is survived by children, Claude (April) of Herriman, Utah; Debra of Ely, England; Linda (Jack) Stoyanoff of Santaquin, Utah; Scott (Maureen) of Price, Utah; Mary of Eugene, Oregon; Lanett Draper of Merlin, Oregon; brother Ralph (Shirley) Keele and sister Joyce Beveridge; sister in law Isobell Kelly; 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Phyllis is preceded in death by husband Claude, son Kevin, granddaughter Jaymee Callor, parents Van and Dolma Keele, and brothers Roy and Joe Keele.
The family would like to thank, Angie Fausett, Dr. Potter, Dr. Wallentine, Fausett’s Mortuary, CNN Hospice, Pinnacle care center and members of the Price Third Ward for their tender care and concern during mom’s illness.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at the Price LDS 3rd Ward Chapel, 303 West 500 South, Price, Utah at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017 from 6-7:30 p.m. and 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
