The two Green River High Pirates basketball team concluded their 2016-17 seasons with a pair of losses at their Utah State 1-A basketball tournaments.The Green River boys’ team finished fourth in region action behind Monticello, White Horse and Pinnacle. Green River defeated Telos 44-43 in a play-in game and then lost to Tintic and Parowan the next two days. The scores were 61-44 and 60-29.
The boy’s team finished with a 5-21 season record and a 2-6 region 19 record. Jacob Cox led the team with a 10.73 scoring average and was followed by Trey Vetere with a 6.85 scoring average.
