Pack the car and bring the whole family to beautiful Green River, for the town’s first Rock and Mineral Festival. Hosted at the John Wesley Powell River History Museum from March 31 – April 2, the festival is free and open to the public, and will feature rock and mineral vendors, natural history field trips, and fun for the whole family.

Festivities begin Friday evening March 31 with a lecture on important dinosaur discoveries in the Green River area by state paleontologist Dr. Jim Kirkland at 6:30 p.m. Vendors, craft demonstrators, and family activities will be set up on the museum grounds on Saturday and Sunday. Experts will lead field trips to Fossil Point, nearby dinosaur tracks, and petroglyph sites during the weekend.
